Melbourne

I decided to take a little trip back to Melbourne this past weekend being that my last trip there was a little… let’s say… wasteful? Anyhoo… my friend Jules and I took Monday off work and decided to go down to Melbourne for an extra long weekend.

I have to say… I appreciated the city much more so than last time, and I have to be honest… I actually like Melbourne a lot more than Sydney. There are many reasons for this, including the fact that’s it’s culturally more diverse, WAY less pretentious, fabulous transportation system, and fantastic café’s and bars in the little hidden alley ways throughout the city… just to name a few!

We spent most of our time walking around the city, and doing tons of shopping. Oh, and that’s another thing… Melbourne shopping is by far better than in Sydney. I spent weeks looking for something in Sydney that I found in less than an hour shopping in Melbourne. Fabulous!

It was great to get away and enjoy Melbourne for what it has to offer. I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface there, but I know one day I’ll go back!

Now that I’ve just finished unpacking, I have to start packing again for my trip THIS weekend down to the snow! Yes, Australia does have snow. I’m heading to Thredbo to do some skiing for the weekend, which will be quite interesting. I’m keeping my expectations low… as I know it won’t be Whistler. So stay tuned for that update next week…
